This year for vacation we went back to the same place in Silver Lake Michigan, but this year we brought the Valle Clan with us. After a long week of moving we were more than ready for a relaxing vacation. The kids didn't even wait to get there to start relaxing... they all just passed out in the van on the way up there.
As anticipated, we did a lot of the same activities as we did the last time we were there, but it was all new for the Valles and we all clearly enjoyed it enough to want to do it all again. We did lunch at the dairy farm, spent an afternoon at the petting zoo, lots of evening deserts at Whippy Dip, another dune buggy ride at Mac Woods and of course lots of pool time. However we did do a couple of new things this year too. Half of our crew headed out for a charter fishing excursion and caught some lake trout and salmon. Since we were there over the 4th of July we also watched fireworks on the beach and celebrated Christian's birthday with a pineapple upside down cake.
Since we were also in the midst of selling our house while on vacation we had to sneak away for a morning and find a notary to print off our closing documents, notarize us signing them, then overnight them back to the title company. That was a little tricky and time consuming, but far better than having to drive all the way back into town for an hour long closing and in the end everything went off without a hitch.
It was a lovely vacation, but I think Dan and I were both a bit anxious to get back home and start making out new house a home. There was lots of work in front of us and even though it was a bit overwhelming I know I personally was a bit anxious to dive into it!
