It felt like it took forever to get the cabinets fixed in the kitchen. We knew from day one of looking at the house that we would need to find a way to get a new door to replace the missing one next to the fridge and get a shorter cabinet for over the stove so the microwave wasn't hanging so low over the stove. It took quite a bit of asking around, but I was finally given the name of an independent retired cabinet guy. He was able to take down the original cabinet over the stove and cut it down to the correct size, then he made new doors for that cabinet and a new door for the cabinet next to the stove. He did beautiful work, although it took about two months and the arches on the doors don't match exactly. I'm just thrilled to have the last of my initial major kitchen projects finished up!
